Greek ~ “To Call or Invite”
“He has saved us and called us to a holy-life not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace…”
2 Timothy 1:9

Our Story

We have been on a journey of re-imagining how Christian-led organizations can become more sustainable and create more redemptive impact. In 2022, we launched Kaleo Labs to help equip, train, and support Christian social entrepreneurs.

We recognize that Christian entrepreneurs need more business and social development expertise to create sustainable and impact-oriented ventures. They also need financial capital and resources to test and launch new ideas. Lastly, They also seek a community of like-minded people to journey with.

Meanwhile, the charitable and philanthropic sectors are in the midst of a profound change. Traditional approaches and solutions are giving way to the emergence of the 4th Sector which consists of “for-benefit” organizations that combine market-based approaches of the private sector with the social and environmental aims of the public and non-profit sectors. In order for Christian organizations to succeed in this transition, businesses, non-profits, and churches must join together.

Our solution is to empower Christian-led businesses and organizations

through the concept of Redemptive Social Entrepreneurship.

What is a Redemptive Social Enterprise?

A Redemptive Social Enterprise combines the best practices from social development and for-profit business models to achieve a social and missional goal that promotes restorative healing and hope.

They operate with a business model that generates revenue, allowing them to fund their social initiatives and increase the probability for long-term sustainability. By engaging with communities and involving them in the solutions, they create a more lasting social impact by seeking to address root causes rather than providing short-term fixes.

What does “Redemptive” mean?

From our friends at Praxis Labs:

"Redemption" is an economic concept signifying the act of repurchasing something or someone, with the aim of reinstating it to its rightful position.

When we voluntarily step into such circumstances, bearing cost or embracing risk to aid in the restoration or repair of a person, resource, or system, we are being redemptive.

Redemptive endeavours often necessitate entrepreneurship - the creation of novel products, services, expressions, models, or norms that make social impact.

Our Why

We are passionate about helping Christian social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders launch sustainable and impact-oriented redemptive social enterprises that seek to address societal problems and invite all stakeholders into flourishing the way God intended.

We desire to nurture an ecosystem of redemptive social entrepreneurs who are driven by a calling to make lasting impact and bring hope and healing in their communities.

Ultimately, we envision a world where businesses, non-profits, and churches collaborate to address societal issues while sharing the good news and hope of Jesus Christ.

Our Values

As we seek to become a Redemptive Social Enterprise ourselves, we commit to:

  • Act humbly for the flourishing of others.

  • Foster deep community and relationships.

  • Inspire adventurous work.

  • Design the world that ought to be.

  • Seek good and true narratives.

  • Exercise imagination.
